Our daily tour around the world in search of new inspirations brings us in Canada, where a married couple, John and Juli Baker, opened in 2009 Mjölk, a shop specialized in Scandinavian and Japanese design.
This is a showroom for young artists and craftsmen and also a shop for interior furnishing.
The objects displayed are chosen with great attention and they can be used or even only admired as pieces of arts.
What really impressed us is the atmosphere that you can breathe inside the shop.
Tea trolley by Alvar Aalto
Mass Light Marble Chandelier – NA6 – 9 pendants by Norm
Min Watering Can Copper by Anderssen & Voll
Sucabaruca coffe service by Luca Nichetto + Lera Moiseeva
We want to underline another element: Mjölk book, a series of catalogs / magazine that includes a description of their products but also designer interviews and reports from the Scandinavian and Japanese world. Again an object so specific becomes something to look, read and admire.
In our opinion Mjölk is an interesting example of what can happens when your passion becomes your job and the effect is absolutely winning … We pursue the same objective!
